Bible Verses About The Kingdom Of God

Learning the Best Bible Verses About The Kingdom Of God is something worth doing by everyone. The Kingdom of God is highly referenced in the Gospels (e.g.,  Luke 17:20; Mark 1:15; 10:15; 15:43) and in other books of the New Testament (e.g., 1 Corinthians 15:50; Acts 28:31; Romans 14:17). It is important to understand here that the Kingdom of God is synonymous with the Kingdom of Heaven. In different passages of Scripture, the deep concept of the Kingdom of God takes on various shades of meaning. In a broad sense, the Kingdom of God is the rule of an eternal, sovereign God over the entire universe. A good number of Scriptural passages indicate that God is the supreme and undeniable Monarch of all creation: “The LORD has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all” (Psalm 103:19).

It is important to understand that every authority that exist has been established by God Almighty, creator of Heaven and Earth (Romans 13:1). Hence, we can say with a reasonable degree of certainty that the Kingdom of God incorporates everything that is. We can as well perceive the Kingdom of God as a spiritual rule over the hearts of those who willingly submit to His sovereign authority. All those who defy this authority and refuse to subject to ruling are not part of God’s Kingdom. From this point of view, we can clearly say without doubt that the Kingdom of God is spiritual.

Bible Verses About The Kingdom Of God

What the Scriptures say about the Kingdom of God

Jesus Christ said that His Kingdom was not of this world (John 18:36). He preached that a Sincere Repentance and an obedient heart to the Commands of God was necessary to be a part of the Kingdom of God (Matthew 4:17). John 3:5-7 is the evidence that the Kingdom of God can be equated to a sphere of salvation. Jesus tells us that the Kingdom of God is accessed by being born again of Water and the Holy Spirit. The birth which is governed by water is the call for a sincere repentance from sin and all wicked ways. God instructed John the Baptist to institute it (Matthew 3). The birth which is governed by the Holy Spirit is that which repented sinners obtain in Christ Jesus (John 14). We can also say that the Lord is the Sovereign of the Universe. Hence His Kingdom is Universal (1 Timothy 6:15).

Another sense in which the Kingdom of God is used in the Scripture is the literal rule of Christ on the Earth during the Millennium. Prophet Daniel said, “the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed” (Daniel 2:44; cf. 7:13–14). Behold, many other Prophets also spoke in support of this (e.g., Zechariah 14:9; Obadiah 1:21; Habakkuk 2:14; Micah 4:2). Having this in mind, some theologians refer to the future, open manifestation of God’s Kingdom as the “Kingdom of Glory” and the present, hidden manifestation of God’s Kingdom as the “Kingdom of Grace.” However, both manifestations of God’s Kingdom are highly connected. As of now, Christ has setup his spiritual reign in the Church on Earth, and He will someday setup His physical reign in Jerusalem.
