Did Adam And Eve Have Sex In The Garden Of Eden? Truthfully speaking, the Bible does not say whether or not Adam and Eve had sexual relations in the Garden of Eden. And as a result, we cannot say with certainty whether they did or did not. However, let’s take a look at the issue a little more deeply for a better understanding.
Genesis 1:26-28 says, “Then God said, ‘Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.’ 27 God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 God blessed them; and God said to them, ‘Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth,’”
Notice that in Genesis 1:26-28, the Lord God Almighty created and placed Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden and commanded them to multiply and fill the earth. However, we do not know with certainty if they had begun to fulfill that command by having sexual relations in the garden. In addition, we do not know with certainty how long they were in the Garden of Eden before they fell. What we know with certainty about Adam and Eve having sexual relations is found in Genesis 4:1 which reads, Now the man had relations with his wife Eve, and she conceived and gave birth to Cain, and she said, “I have gotten a manchild with the help of the Lord.” This happened after they had sinned and were driven out of the Garden of Eden. However, we can’t be as clear on what happened prior to the Fall.
