The Joy of the Lord is my Strength Verse

The Joy of the Lord is my Strength Verse can be found in all the different translation versions of the Bible. All the Bible verses that are revealing strength which is obtained from the joy of the Lord are aimed at encouraging Christians in keeping the faith. It is without doubt that at one point in time, we get the feeling of discouragement. Such feelings must be quickly dealt with before they lead us into wandering far away from the faith. Discouragement comes in several ways. You can get the feeling of discouragement just from a single misused word addressed to you, having a low esteem of yourself, failure to achieve your goals, inability to meet up with your daily needs, inability to pay of the bills, or experiencing things that you were not expecting.

In as much as words can bring discouragement, they can also bring encouragement. There is power in words and when they are well used, they build. On the other hand, misusing words lead to destruction and ruin. Remember that the Universe and all that is in it was created out of God’s word. Hence, you can be sure that whatever be the situation that you are undergoing and it is bringing you discouragement and weakness, a single word from God can bring life into it. And unto our knowledge, the Bible is an authoritative voice of God through which he speaks to his children. It is in this light that we write on the joy of the Lord is my Strength verse. Refuse to be part of those who perish because they lack knowledge about the things of God (Hosea 4:6).

The Joy of the Lord is my Strength Verse

Let’s read the joy of the Lord is my strength verse from Nehemiah 8:10 – “Then he said unto them, Go your way, eat the fat, and drink the sweet, and send portions unto them for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy unto our Lord: neither be ye sorry; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.” Anyone who takes the Joy of the Lord is my strength verse serious will find in it the power and courage to overcome many challenges.

On our own, we can do nothing, but by pleasing God, we can benefit from his mercy, strength, and favor just as it was the case with the children of Israel. Upon realizing their sins and turning unto God, Nehemiah told them that their strength was now obtained from the joy of their heavenly father. That’s why he stopped them from weeping with a call to rejoice as God had forgiven their sins and was ready to consider them as the children he had chose from the beginning. God has not changed, no matter how heavy our sins might be, if we turn to him in sincere repentance, he’ll welcomed and forgive us. He’ll give us another reason to rejoice and be happy. He’ll strengthen us to overcome the challenges of these days. In him. we’ll find rest, happiness, and comfort.

Mastering the source of Christian joy

A Christian is a follower of Christ and talking of Christian Joy has to do with benefiting from the joy of Christ. In simple words, our joy has to reflect that of Christ our master. In honor to his Father’s will, Jesus Christ found his joy within us as we can read from Hebrews 12:2 – “For the joy that was set before Him, He endured the cross.” Strange but true because we all make up the joy that gave Christ the courage to endure the suffering and persecutions of the Cross. It was out of the desire to restore the once broken relationship that was existing between man and God that Christ offered himself as a sacrificial lamb that takes away the sins of the World.

The Joy of Christ was a fruit of his love for righteousness and hate for wickedness as we can read from Hebrews 1:9 – “You have loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even your God, has anointed you with the OIL OF GLADNESS above your fellows.” As his followers, we must derive our joy from doing what is right and just before God the Father. Christ derived his joy from honoring his Father’s will even in the face of persecution and pains. By so doing, he remained in God and God remained in him. Let’s support this message by reading from John 15:10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love. These things I have spoken to you, that MY JOY MAY BE IN YOU, and that your joy may be full.”
