Unlike what they thought about the Messiah, Jesus Christ came to rule the whole world through obedience to his Father’s will while appearing weak before men. Little did the Jews know that the eternal life of freedom which awaited them through the Messiah was to come by his death on the cross as a ransom for their sins.
