The message of God that came through Christ is one that brings life. And it is without doubt that God wants us to spend quantitative and qualitative time studying His ways. However, it is not just about studying for studying sake but studying and putting into practice. It is by so doing that we are located in God’s mercy and favor. And as we all know, once a person finds favor before God, he/she will live to testify His goodness, love, and protection.
Truth be told, the Bible is an incredible book of history and facts that are all pointing to the existence of God Almighty, creator of Heaven and Earth. And even of greater importance is the fact that the Bible is the Word of God. It contains the Mind of God on almost all situations about our lives. That’s why we should actively study it and meditate on it day and night. Apostle Paul says in 2 Timothy 3:16-17 – “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” By Believing, Sincerely Repenting, Learning and Obeying the Key Teachings of Jesus Christ, we are offered God’s special gift of Eternal Life and saved from the Fire of Hell.
Bible Verses About Learning
What the Scriptures say about Learning
It is by learning and putting God’s word into practice that we are able to grow and mature spiritually. It is difficult to claim blessings or promises that you know little to nothing about. Hence, by studying God’s word, you get to familiarize yourself with His promises and blessings which you can rightly claim. There is so much to benefit from learning God’s word.
5 Reasons why you should learn God’s word
1. The word of God is infallible (Proverbs 30:5-6)
Behold brethren, there is no error in God’s word. When it has to do with our souls, the law of the Lord is perfect. It is also important to understand here that the testimony of our Lord is inerrant. The purity of God’s word does not require something additional. It is in this light that the Lord warns us against adding to His word that which He has not spoken. Proverbs 30:5-6 says, “Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. Do not add to His words, Lest He rebuke you, and you be found a liar.”
2. The word of God is complete (Revelation 22:18-19)
Brethren, what God had spoken through our Christian fathers and the immediate followers of Jesus Christ should be held with much care. Let no one try to remove or add anything that was not said. Whatever God revealed to any of them about a subject matter is complete and worth respecting. Their teachings have been gathered into what we refer today as the Bible. Revelation 22:18-19 says, “For I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to these things, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book; and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part from the Book of Life, from the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.“
3. The word of God is totally authoritative (Psalms 119:89)
Psalms 119:89 says, “Forever, O LORD, Your word is settled in heaven.” It is important to understand once and for all that the Word of God is the only source of absolute Divine authority.
4. God’s word is totally sufficient for all our needs (Timothy 3:16-17)
Timothy 3:16-17 says, “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.” The Bible which is an authoritative guide in knowing and doing the will of God handles almost all aspects of life. Hence, we can say that it is sufficient for us to know what God wants from us in every situation.
5. God will fulfill all what His word promises (Isaiah 55:11)
Isaiah 55:11 says, “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” Behold, God sent His word to accomplish His perfect will in our lives. He has given us many promises in the Bible that reassure us about His love, mercy, favor, and protection even in the midst of intense challenges. You can be sure that He will certainly bring to accomplishment all His promises. He never fails. He did it in the past, He is still doing it these days, and He will certainly do it even in the days to come (Hebrews 13:8).
