What Does The Bible Say About Redeemer? Apostle Paul tells us that our natural condition was characterized by guilt as we can read from Romans 3:23 – “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” He further points to the fact that it is Christ’s redemption that has freed us from guilt, being “justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus” (Romans 3:24). The word redeem means “to buy out.” This word was specifically used in reference to the purchase of a slave’s freedom. The application of this term to Christ’s death on the Cross at Calvary means much to His followers. He redeemed us because our prior condition was that of Slavery. That’s why all those in Christ can say with confidence that God has purchased their freedom.
In Christ, our redemption frees us from the bondage or governance of sin. Redemption comes with several benefits among which we have Eternal Life (Revelation 5:9-10), forgiveness of our sins when we Sincerely Repent (Ephesians 1:7), freedom from the Fire of Hell when we keep the Key Teachings of Jesus Christ, righteousness when we look unto Christ (Romans 5:17), complete deliverance from sin’s bondage (Titus 2:14; 1 Peter 1:14-18), freedom from the Law’s curse (Galatians 3:13), peace with God (Colossians 1:18-20), adoption into God’s family (Galatians 4:5), and the indwelling of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). In simple terms, to be redeemed is to be forgiven, justified, adopted, free, holy, and reconciled ( Psalm 130:7-8; Luke 2:38; and Acts 20:28).
What Does The Bible Say About Redeemer?
The metaphorical use of the word “redemption” comes from Apostle Paul’s teaching in Galatians 3:13 and 4:5. Ransom is another word that is related to the Christian concept of redemption. That is, Jesus Christ paid the price for our release from sin and its punishment which is death leading to eternal condemnation (Matthew 20:28; 1 Timothy 2:6). Perhaps you were not aware but the death of Jesus Christ was in exchange for our lives. In fact, the Bible makes it clear to us that redemption is only made possible “through His blood,” that is, by His death (Colossians 1:14).
With this in mind, we can say without doubt that the streets of heaven will be filled with former captives who, through no merit of their own, find themselves redeemed, forgiven, and free through Christ. Behold, slaves to sin have become saints. That is why we are able to sing a new song to the Redeemer, Jesus Christ who made this to be possible. It is clear that we were slaves to sin, condemned by our own thoughts, words, and actions to eternal separation from God. Luckily enough, Jesus Christ paid the price to redeem us, a situation that resulted to our freedom from the power and consequences of sin.
What does the Scripture say about the Redeemer?
The Scripture encourages us to rejoice because our redeemer liveth (Job 19:25). Remain firm in the faith for your redeemer is the Holy One of Israel (Isaiah 41:14; 43:14; 44:24; 48:17; 54:5; 59:20). Our redeemer, the Lord of Hosts is His Name (Isaiah 47:4). God clearly tells us that He is our Lord and our Redeemer (Isaiah 49:26; 60:16). Our redeemer bore our sorrows and carried our griefs (Isaiah 53:4). It was in His love that He redeemed us (Isaiah 63:9). Behold, the Lord, art our Father, our Redeemer (Isaiah 63:16). Jesus Christ was sent by God to save His people (Matthew 1:21). He came as the Anointed One (Messiah) who willingly gave His life as a ransom for the sins of all who come to Him.
The blood of Jesus Christ redeems all who come to Him for the redemption of sins (Matthew 26:28). In this way, the Lord God Almighty redeemed His people (Luke 1:68). Today, Jesus Christ stands as the Perfect Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world (John 1:29). There is redemption in Jesus Christ (Romans 3:24). We were reconciled to God through the death of His beloved Son on the Cross at Calvary (Romans 5:10). John 3:16 says “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
