What Does The Bible Say About The Savior?

What Does The Bible Say About The Savior? It is without doubt that humanity needs a Savior. That is, all who are living today and all who have ever lived need a savior. The main reason why we all need a Savior has its roots in the nature of God and the nature of man. The Scripture tells us that God has a plan and human beings occupy a crucial part of His plan. In addition, God is Holy and cannot allow sin into His presence. And we know that all human beings have sinned and fallen short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23). In fact, every human being is born with an intrinsic sin nature. The challenge we have is that living with God requires a sinless perfection but none of us is perfect. All these points are indicating our need for a Savior.

God cannot accomplish His plans without first fixing the problem of the sinful nature of mankind. This is to say that we all need a Savior and the Scripture identifies Him as Jesus Christ, the perfect lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world (John 1:36; Luke 2:11; Titus 2:13–14). However, it should be noted that the word savior enjoys a somewhat broad use in the Bible; any person who performs an act of delivery may be designated as “savior.” Examples of such instances include King Jeroboam II (2 Kings 13:5), and the judges Othniel and Ehud (Judges 3:9, 5). God the Father Himself is referred to on several occasions in the Scriptures as “Savior” (Isaiah 43:11; 45:21–22; 60:16). However, we have only one Savior in the person of Jesus Christ who is one with God the Father Almighty.

What Does The Bible Say About The Savior?

What does the Scripture say about our Savior Jesus Christ?

The Scriptures present one Savior in the person of Jesus Christ. In addition, the Scriptures tell us that we all need Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior. It is only through Him that we are made Holy and worthy of entering into God’s Kingdom. It is by believing in Him that the blood He shed on the Cross at Calvary washes our sins and makes us acceptable by God. This makes anyone who Believes, Sincerely Repents, and obeys His Teachings worthy of benefiting from God’s special gift of Eternal Life. Christ saves such people whom He considers His own from Eternal Condemnation in the Fire of Hell. Behold, Salvation is found in none but Christ (Acts 4:12). Hebrews 12:14 says, “without holiness no one will see the Lord.”

And when it comes to meeting with God the Father Almighty, Jesus Christ was clear on the fact that He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Hence, no one can come to the Father excerpt through Him (John 14:6). This is to say that on our own, we can never meet God because of our sinful natures. But in Christ, we are transformed into new creatures worthy of standing in the presence of God (2 Corinthians 5:17; Galatians 6:15). The Bible teaches that we should pursue holiness because God is All Holy (1 Peter 1:15). There are over 900 Bible verses talking about God’s Holiness. And as His children, He wants us to reflect His nature of Holiness. Unfortunately, we cannot on our own because of the sin that entered the world through the fall of man but in Christ we can.
