There are many financial freedom scriptures worth knowing as a Christian. Chances are high that you’ve read 1 Timothy 6:10 which says that the love of money is the root of all evil. With this in mind, many people are getting it all wrong when it comes to finances. The misinterpretation of this scripture has inserted the fear of money in the hearts of many and led others into committing lots of financial mistakes. Some people think that have much money is being posses by an evil spirit. Truth be told, this is not what is said about money in the Bible. It’s God’s will to bless you with all that you need for life. Today, the struggles many Christians are facing with finances can be attributed to their misunderstanding of what God has to say about money.

Money in itself is not evil as many people think neither is having money a sin. It is perceived as the root of all evil because many people in search of it have wandered far away from God. We can as well add that the love of money has led many into cheating, stealing, and embracing injustice. However, this does not make money evil. Money in the hands of God’s children is the reward of labor. It is a blessing from God unto all those who honor his command to work for a living. Money becomes a source of sin when you value it more than God. Even Jesus Christ our savior used money in running his Earthly ministry. Famous Biblical figures like Abraham, Joseph and Solomon were living financial free lives. They clearly understood the meaning of financial freedom. This is an indication that God wants you to prosper.

The financial freedom scriptures which we hereby write to present are aimed at bringing encouragement. Everyone once in a while needs encouragements especially when it comes to finances. It is without doubt that God has something to say about your financial life. And it is important as a Christian to know what God holds as blessings for your financial life. Knowing God’s promises for your life will better equip you when it comes to claiming them. When it comes to knowing God’s mind, the Bible is an authoritative guide. It is in its light that we shall handle the aspect of Christian financial freedom. However, it is worth understanding the basic concepts of financial freedom before presenting the best financial freedom scriptures.

What is financial freedom?

Financial freedom is all about taking control of your finances. It is a state in which you have a dependable cash-flow which allows you to live the life you want without money restrictions. In other words, it is a state in which you won’t be worrying about money issues like how to pay your bills or sudden expenses. In a state of financial freedom, you aren’t soaked in debts. Financial freedom comes with a debt free life. And for sure, it’s God’s will for his children to enjoy debt free lives as we can read from Deuteronomy 28:12. God has a financial plan for you

God, our heavenly father has financial plans for all his children. We mean plans to make them prosper as we can read from the scriptures (Jeremiah 29:11). By remaining faithful and sticking to God’s plan for your life, you’ll reap more than what your storerooms can contain. In addition, you’ll be a mighty blessing in the hands of God for many. Jeremiah 17:7-8 – “But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit“.

Can I reach financial freedom?

Anyone with the will can reach financial freedom. However, the will alone is not enough as you’ll need to embrace hard work. God who sees all the efforts of men and women will certainly bless you with your heart desire. The process of reaching financial freedom can be challenging but always remember that it is not impossible. With determination, hard work and God on your side, you are destined to succeed.

Group 1

Deuteronomy 28:1, 3-6, 8 NLT – “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the world. Your towns and your fields will be blessed. Your children and your crops will be blessed. The offspring of your herds and flocks will be blessed. Your fruit baskets and breadboards will be blessed. Where you go and whatever you do, you will be blessed. The Lord will guarantee a blessing on everything you do and will fill your storehouses with grain. The Lord your God will bless you in the land he is giving you.” Philippians 4:19: – “And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus“.

Deuteronomy 28:11-12 NLT – “The Lord will give you prosperity in the land he swore to your ancestors to give you, blessing you with many children, numerous livestock, and abundant crops. The Lord will send rain at the proper time from his rich treasury in the heavens and will bless all the work you do. You will lend to many nations, but you will never need to borrow from them.” Proverbs 10:22 ISV “The blessing of the LORD establishes wealth, and difficulty does not accompany it”. 2 Corinthians 9:9-11  “As it is written: “He has scattered abroad His gifts to the poor; His righteousness endures forever.” Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your store of seed and will increase the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way to be generous on every occasion…”

Proverbs 8:20-21 CEV – “I always do what is right, and I give great riches to everyone who loves me”. Deuteronomy 8:18 ASV – “But though shalt remember Jehovah thy God, for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth; that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as at this day.” Proverbs 13:11 KJV – “Wealth gotten by vanity shall be diminished: but he that gathereth by labour shall increase.” Matthew 6:25-26 CEV – “ I tell you not to worry about your life. Don’t worry about having something to eat, drink, or wear. Isn’t life more than food or clothing? Look at the birds in the sky! They don’t plant or harvest. They don’t even store grain in barns. Yet your Father in heaven takes care of them. Aren’t you worth much more than birds?”

2 Corinthians 9:8 NLT – “And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others.” John 21:6 KJV – “And he said unto them, Cast the net on the right side of the ship, and ye shall find. They cast therefore, and now they were not able to draw it for the multitude of fishes.”
