It is a state of being that permits a person to dwell with peace of mind when it comes to finances as he/she knows well full that God is in control. In other words we can say that it is a state of being that comes with a dependable cash-flow. It also has to do with growing and managing your wealth in God’s way. Upon achieving such, you’ll no longer need to worry about money related issues such as sudden expenses, debt owed, and bill payments. Note that it is not God’s will for you to be in debts. God wants you to prosper as we can read from Jeremiah 29:11. It is said in 1 Timothy 6:10 that the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil. Money in itself or having money is not a sin.
Christian Financial Freedom Course
Misinterpreting 1 Timothy 6:10 will lead you into commuting financial mistakes and dwelling in financial bondage. It is not written in the scriptures that money is evil nor having it a sin. The Biblical problem with money comes in when people start valuing it more than God who provided it for them. It is considered the root of all evil because the desire to have it has led many into wandering far away from God. Whatever the case, always remember that money earned through work and justice is a blessing from God. A blessing directed to those who honor God’s command to work for a living while on Earth.
A consistent financial freedom course reveals the Biblical principles that govern finances. Such principles are relevant for both millionaires and those struggling to get out of financial bondage. It reveals:
It is possible to achieve Financial Freedom God’s Way and live a debt-free life. The plans God has for you are those to make you prosper and successful as we can read from Jeremiah 29:11. In return, all you need to do is to submit to his Holy Will (Deuteronomy 28:1,3-6, 8). It is not God’s will that his children dwell in debts or live in financial bondage. But what do we mean by financial freedom? Financial freedom is a state in which you rest with a peaceful mind knowing well fully that God is in control of your finances and you will never lack. Financial freedom also has to do with receiving wisdom from God to be able to grow and manage your finances in a way that brings glory to his name. It is important as a Christian to understand both financial bondage and financial freedom.
Financial freedom comes with a dependent cash-flow that allows anyone to live the kind of life that they ever wanted. It is a state in which you no longer worry about money-related issues like debts, bill payments, and sudden expenses. It is desired by everyone but very few people end up experiencing it. Others are too skeptical to perceive the truth behind Money in the Bible. The misinterpretation of what the Scriptures say about money has led many into committing lots of financial mistakes. Such people end up struggling with finances all their lives. It is true that 1 Timothy 6:10 points out to the fact that the love of money is the root of all evil. Note that money in itself is not evil nor having money a sin. Sin related to money comes in when its love leads you to wander far away from God.

Achieving Financial Freedom God’s way
If you are serious about achieving financial freedom God’s way and enjoying a debt-free life, stick to the following steps:
1. Transfer ownership to God (Psalm 24:1)
Psalm 24:1 NASB – “The earth is the Lord’s, and all it contains, the world, and those who dwell in it.” Everything on Earth belongs to God. The understanding of this scripture is the key to obtaining wealth and becoming prosperous in life. Acknowledge the truth from this scripture by transferring the ownership of all your belongings to God. This includes your time, family, money, wealth, possessions, and earnings. Even your life belongs to God. By transferring ownership, you are acknowledging his sovereign authority over the Earth and Heaven. Doing this will release divine favor on you in all sectors. The ability to see yourself as a keeper of wealth and not its owner will help in maintaining you humble before God. Failing to do so will lead to pride and thoughts of being equal to God. Such thoughts call on God’s punishment.
2. Get out of debts – Proverbs 15:16
Proverbs 15:16 NASB- “Better is a little with the fear of the Lord than great treasure and turmoil with it.”A person cannot experience financial freedom with the habit of getting into debt. That’s why you’ll need to break off from all habits that regularly get you into debts like spending more than you earn, and borrowing. Desire a debt-free life and start working your way to achieving it. You can as a well read the following related articles:
Matthew 6:31 NASB- “Do not worry then, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear for clothing?’ “ It is true that at times, we make the mistake of trying to help God, but this is completely wrong. God is far wiser than we are. He is aware of all our needs and he will provide them just as he promised. God never fails. What we need in order to benefit from his promises is a mature faith, By faith, we mean a certainty or absolute trust in God that he will fulfill all his promises. You can as well read the following articles on how to obtain a mature faith:
4. Overcome temptations to make hasty financial decisions – Proverbs 21:5
Proverbs 21:5 NASB – “The plans of the diligent lead surely to advantage, but everyone who is hasty comes surely to poverty.” Avoid making financial decisions when the information at hand is not sufficient or convincing enough. In your journey to achieving financial freedom God’s way, embrace the hard way as the only way. Avoid going near get-rich-quick schemes as they’ll end up worsening your financial situation.
5. Strive for excellence in all what you do – 1 Peter 4:11
1 Peter 4:11 NASB – “Whoever speaks is to do so as one who is speaking the utterance of God; whoever serves is to do so as one who is serving by the strength which God supplies; so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belongs the glory and dominion forever and ever.” An Outdoor look will reveal the beauty and quality of the work which was made by our heavenly father during creation. He did not limit himself until the best was obtained. In his likeness, we should all strive for excellence in all that we do. Note that humility does not mean second best. Hence, you should set high standards for yourself and your household.
6. Seek Contentment through your relationship with God – Philippians 4:11-12
Philippians 4:11-12 – “I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need.” Greed and covetousness are the fruits of a discontented spirit. Derive your joy from whatever you have at hand and give thanks to God. Remove your focus on material things and put in on God. He knows that you need those things and will certainly provide them. But you must not allow them to keep your heart troubled. Also, read Bible verses about Money and Greed.

Christian financial freedom is all about knowing that God is in control of your finances. It also has to do with growing and managing your finances in a way that pleases God. Christian financial freedom is a state whereby a christian has a dependable cash-flow that allows him/her to live the kind of life that they want while remaining in the light of God’s righteousness. In such a state, you no longer worry about how you will pay bills or handle sudden expenses. You can choose between a financial free life or a life full of financial struggles. 1 Timothy 6:10 guides us into understanding that money is the root of all evil. Many people misinterpret this scripture and end up struggling with finances all their lives. Note that having money is not a sin. Sin comes in when the love of money leads you away from God’s righteousness.
A lot of people are getting it all wrong when it comes to Biblical or Christian finance as well as handling the topic of Money in the Bible. Others choose not to even talk about it in the modern Church. However, failing to do this as a spiritual leader will only lead those in your charge into committing lots of financial mistakes. And for sure, they’ll end up struggling all their lives when it comes to finances. God being the father of wisdom has much to say about successfully managing your finances and living a financial free life. Such removes the burden of debt in one’s life and makes them completely debt free. From what the Bible says about debt, it is clear that God wants you to prosper and enjoy the benefits of a debt free life.
Christian Financial Freedom – All you need to know
As a Christian, it is of great importance to be able to recognize financial bondage while mastering what it takes to achieve financial freedom. Financial freedom can manifest itself in a Christian’s life through the relief from tension and worry that comes from bill payments and sudden expenses. It brings peace of mind and makes you convince that God is in control of your finances. Do not mistake us by thinking that being a Christian means that you’ll never experience financial difficulties. Generally, God allows the consequences of your earlier actions to remain and reinforce the lesson you ought to learn. Also keep in mind that God has not promised to make away with all human difficulties on Earth. However, we are certain of God’s promise to help all those who keep to his commands (Deuteronomy 28:1, 3-6, 8).
Anyone who desires can experience Christian financial freedom. God has plans to make you prosperous and successful in life (Jeremiah 29:11). Do not be discouraged by looking at your current financial situation. Instead call unto God and he will answer you in ways beyond human understanding (Psalms 50:15). When God is in control of our finances, we have absolutely nothing to worry about. He is the master of the universe and unto him, all things are possible. We just need to submit to his will and his favor will be our blessing. The financial freedom which comes from God is superior to that which the world offers. Look around and you will find non-Christian who believe that they have found financial freedom. A deeper investigation will reveal that such people are not free from the burden of anxiety, tension, bitterness, and worry about money. Only God can bless you with money and true peace of mind.
Christian steps to financial freedom
1. Transfer ownership
The first step to achieving financial freedom and true peace of mind is to transfer ownership of every possession to God. This includes your time, money, family, education, material possession, and even your future earning potentials. Transferring ownership is the key to experiencing the Spirit-filled life when handling your finances as we can read from Psalms 8:6. In simple terms, we are saying here that you should see yourself as a keeper of wealth and not its owner. Perceive yourself as one who has been entrusted every possession at hand. By so doing, you’ll remain humble before God who blesses and makes people rich. There is no substitute for this step in achieving Christian financial freedom. Perceiving yourself as the owner of even a single possession implies that all happenings to that possession will affect your attitude.
Always remember that God will not force his will on us. In order to benefit from God’s perfect will which is the best, we must first submit to his holy will. By completely transferring ownership of your possessions to God, he will manifest in mighty ways that will release favor and blessings on you. We need to accept God’s conditions before he can take complete control of our lives (Deuteronomy 5:32-33). Happy is he whom God is controlling, for he shall live to testify the goodness of God in his life. God has a perfect plan for such people which is that of providing their needs be them physical, material, or spiritual. It is easier to attest with the mouth that you’ve completely transferred everything to God’s ownership than to proof through actions. This is as a result of the fact that we are accustomed to claiming ownership.
2. Understanding your current financial situation
Having a starting point in the process of achieving financial freedom is very important. It’s not even possible to achieve financial freedom without knowing your starting point. You must gain consciousness of the debts you owe, identify the amount of money you need, and the purpose you need the money for. A starting point is also a point of setting objectives and developing a determined mind to achieve them.
3. Pay off all your debts
Debt is a discouraging pillar in the financial world. But you must keep your mind positive while following your dream of becoming financially free. Desire financial freedom and see yourself as one who deserves to be financially free. Even if you are soaked in debts, do not be discouraged. Simply make up your mind to pay off all the debts you owe. Pray and call on God to help you in coming up with a saving plan that will provide you with the necessary money to pay off all your debts. You can as well read:
Goals are primordial for the achievement of financial freedom. You need to set goals which will act as guides along your path to living a financial free life. Without goals, chances are high that you’ll end up revolving around the same poor financial bondage. Do not only set goals but set realistic goals over a given period of time. Writing down goals is very important. Write down a couple of things to achieve in a period of time. Once achieved, challenge yourself with new ones and work towards achieving them in time.
5. Track your spending and spend less
Tracking your spending will help you gain consciousnesses of all that is living your pocket and therefore spend less. Track your spending for a certain period and you’ll realize that the little purchases which you taught were not affecting in a great way are contributing to a greater loss of your salary. Reaching financial freedom is not something which you achieve overnight. It requires lots of sacrifices, discipline, effort, and hard work from you. Minimize spending in order to accomplish greater purposes.
6. Save and Invest
Rich people are those who understand the process of minimizing spending and maximizing saving. Automate your monthly savings and stick to your monthly budget. Making a monthly budget is very important. However, sticking to it is always challenging. But with the right mindset and discipline, you’ll make it a habit. Spend less and save much. Learn all what you can about how money works and figure out a business to invest in. Once the business flourishes, start thinking of another. Learn to diversify your investments as this will make you financially rooted.
7. Use your wealth in a way that pleases God
Always remember that no one can be rich except God allows him to be. Knowing that you are simply a keeper of wealth and not its owner, use it for purposes that are pleasing to God who is the true owner. Note that true riches are those stored up in your heart for only such will last. Do not focus on storing up riches here on Earth where thieves can steal them. In addition, riches on Earth never last as they soon get rotten. Instead focus on storing your riches in Heaven where they can never get rotten or be stolen. Do this through giving. Bible verses on Giving money are clear on the fact that God loves a cheerful giver. What makes Giving acceptable before God is the love through which it was made. Use your wealth in ways that please God. Prophet TB Joshua puts it as thus:
They are hungry so that you can feed them
She is Childless so that you can comfort her
They are poor so that you can be their benefactor
Others are in need so that you can extend God’s blessings with them
There are many financial freedom scriptures worth knowing as a Christian. Chances are high that you’ve read 1 Timothy 6:10 which says that the love of money is the root of all evil. With this in mind, many people are getting it all wrong when it comes to finances. The misinterpretation of this scripture has inserted the fear of money in the hearts of many and led others into committing lots of financial mistakes. Some people think that have much money is being posses by an evil spirit. Truth be told, this is not what is said about money in the Bible. It’s God’s will to bless you with all that you need for life. Today, the struggles many Christians are facing with finances can be attributed to their misunderstanding of what God has to say about money.
Money in itself is not evil as many people think neither is having money a sin. It is perceived as the root of all evil because many people in search of it have wandered far away from God. We can as well add that the love of money has led many into cheating, stealing, and embracing injustice. However, this does not make money evil. Money in the hands of God’s children is the reward of labor. It is a blessing from God unto all those who honor his command to work for a living. Money becomes a source of sin when you value it more than God. Even Jesus Christ our savior used money in running his Earthly ministry. Famous Biblical figures like Abraham, Joseph and Solomon were living financial free lives. They clearly understood the meaning of financial freedom. This is an indication that God wants you to prosper.
FINANCIAL FREEDOM SCRIPTURES
The financial freedom scriptures which we hereby write to present are aimed at bringing encouragement. Everyone once in a while needs encouragements especially when it comes to finances. It is without doubt that God has something to say about your financial life. And it is important as a Christian to know what God holds as blessings for your financial life. Knowing God’s promises for your life will better equip you when it comes to claiming them. When it comes to knowing God’s mind, the Bible is an authoritative guide. It is in its light that we shall handle the aspect of Christian financial freedom. However, it is worth understanding the basic concepts of financial freedom before presenting the best financial freedom scriptures.
What is financial freedom?
Financial freedom is all about taking control of your finances. It is a state in which you have a dependable cash-flow which allows you to live the life you want without money restrictions. In other words, it is a state in which you won’t be worrying about money issues like how to pay your bills or sudden expenses. In a state of financial freedom, you aren’t soaked in debts. Financial freedom comes with a debt free life. And for sure, it’s God’s will for his children to enjoy debt free lives as we can read from Deuteronomy 28:12. Also read what the Bible says about debt.
God has a financial plan for you
God, our heavenly father has financial plans for all his children. We mean plans to make them prosper as we can read from the scriptures (Jeremiah 29:11). By remaining faithful and sticking to God’s plan for your life, you’ll reap more than what your storerooms can contain. In addition, you’ll be a mighty blessing in the hands of God for many. Jeremiah 17:7-8 – “But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. They are like trees planted along a riverbank, with roots that reach deep into the water. Such trees are not bothered by the heat or worried by long months of drought. Their leaves stay green, and they never stop producing fruit“.
Can I reach financial freedom?
Anyone with the will can reach financial freedom. However, the will alone is not enough as you’ll need to embrace hard work. God who sees all the efforts of men and women will certainly bless you with your heart desire. The process of reaching financial freedom can be challenging but always remember that it is not impossible. With determination, hard work and God on your side, you are destined to succeed.

The Prayer For Debt Cancellation and Financial Breakthrough which we are about to present is one which is highly anointed for greater purposes. It is time for you to benefit from the fruits of God’s blessings in your life. A life of debt was not in God’s plan when he was creating man. In other words, being soaked in debts is not God’s plan for his children. God wants you to prosper and benefit from the works of his hands. Deuteronomy 28:12 guides us into understanding that God’s will is for his children to live in abundance. It further points out that God’s children while dwelling in abundance will lend to others but not borrow. God is ready and willing to bless those who keep to his commands with more than what their storerooms can contain.
All things are possible with God. There is just nothing on Earth, under the Earth, or in Heaven that God cannot do. Before God, all situations and conditions bow in respect and honor. God has the sovereign power to supernaturally cancel debts in the spiritual realms and make the results manifest in the physical realms. It is in this light that we’ll present an anointed prayer for debt cancellation and financial breakthrough. Do not doubt God but rather doubt your doubts because they are not founded. The scriptures clearly point to the fact that everything is possible for the man who believes in God’s supreme authority. Doubting God’s ability to supernaturally clear your debts and bless you financially will simply keep you far from Divine Favor. What you need in order to experience God in higher dimensions is faith. A Mature Faith is a key to reaching the impossible.
Prayer For Debt Cancellation and Financial Breakthrough
With faith in God, you can also benefit from what a debt-free life holds. No matter the depth of debt that you are into, do not be discouraged because God is still saying something. He has not changed. In the past, he assisted his children who were in debts and he will likely do it again in our days. A move back to the Old Testament in 2 Kings 6 talks of Elisha and the floating ax. This story narrates how an Israelite borrowed an ax for work. While he was working, the ax slipped off his hand and was drowned by the surrounding deep water. Knowing well-fully that the ax was not his, he was worried about how to pay it back. It was then that God sent his prophet to command the ax to rise to the surface of the water. The iron ax came floating.
The above story is a clear indication that God does not want his children to dwell in debts. He is still able to do what he did in the past. We just need to call on him and he will rescue us. We are told by the scriptures that God is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8). All we need is faith and an obedient heart to his commands. Before presenting our prayer for debt cancellation and financial breakthrough, it is worth pouring some light on what we mean by debt. In simple terms, debt refers to what you owe or due. The term debt is regularly used to refer to money owed. Those who have been previously in debt can testify that it was not a good exp[experience. Debt is more of a trap that will deprive you of happiness, good health, and peace of mind.
The kind of prayer that brings debt freedom
A prayer for debt cancellation and financial breakthrough is a little different from the other types of prayers. It is more of a scriptural prayer than a simple one. This prayer is highly characterized by decrees. Here, we speak God’s mind to every negative situation affecting our finances and leading us into debts. These decrees are made through the authority in the name of Jesus Christ and by the power of the Holy Spirit. Remember that words have the power to build and to destroy as we are told in the proverbs. It was with words that God created Heaven and Earth through Christ (John 1:1-4). This reveals the power of words that we can use through Christ to construct our financial lives. However, we must always start such prayers by making sincere repentance. This will empower us against every evil spirit responsible for our financial failures.
Anointed prayer for financial blessing
King of Heaven and Earth, I bless your Holy Name. I humbly come before you to request for mercy and financial favor. Father, I know that everything is possible before you. You did it in the past and you are still doing it these days. May your Holy Name be praised today and for all times to come. I thank you for providing all my needs and preventing me from the season of lack. Today, I dwell in the blessings which were given to me through the riches in your glory. With you on my side, I have all that I need in order to successfully unfold my days on Earth. You have never failed me and I know that you will never fail me even in times like this when finances are low and worry invades my mind. Father, help me to be at peace.

Lord, may I shrewdly use what you have provided for me. Father, always remind me that I am not the owner of wealth but simply a keeper. Lord, touch my heart so that I can continuously bless others in as much as you are blessing me. Father, remind me at all times to lend a helping hand to those who are less fortunate.

The Supernatural Debt Cancellation Prayers about to be presented will guide you into possessing your possession through Christ. We are informed by the scriptures that God’s will for his children is that they might live in abundance and lend to others without having to borrow (Deuteronomy 28:12). Thus, debts in our lives are plants whose seeds of origin were not dropped into the ground by God. And the scriptures are clear on the fact that every plant among God’s people which was not planted by him shall be uprooted and destroyed. In this light, we stand against every situation or happening that is against God’s will for us. With the upcoming supernatural debt cancellation prayers, you’ll successfully lunch a spiritual war against the spirit of debt and come out victorious.
We are of God and Christ has already won the battle for us. That’s why the scriptures say that at the mention of his Holy Name, every being and situation must bow in respect (Philippians 2:10). This includes poverty because all things are possible for God. He is the beginning and the end, the Alpha and Omega. Before him, every situation or condition obeys. Proverbs 22:7-8 tells us that anyone who borrows is a slave to the lender. Being of God, we are free men and women who ought to talk and experience debt freedom. God’s promises are those to bless and uplift his children both spiritually and materially as we can read from Deuteronomy 28:12. As long as we remain obedient to God’s instructions, we can expect help from him in all aspects including that in the financial domain.
Supernatural Debt Cancellation Prayers
Before presenting the supernatural debt cancellation prayers, it is wise that we start by defining and understanding what debt is all about. In simple terms, debt means owing something to someone. We generally talk of debt when you owe money to someone. If you’ve been in debts before, you’ll agree with me that it is one of the worst experiences. The Law Of Supernatural Debt Release through Christ
Indeed, there are supernatural and natural laws which Christians can follow in order to free themselves from the horrible bondage of debt. By law here, we mean a solid and well established principle which works for anyone who embraces it. God’s children who love and obey his commands are highly equipped with what it takes to break free from the chains of debts and enjoy a life of financial freedom. It is faith that you need in order to obtain divine intervention in your financial life. We are are told by the scriptures that as children of God, we walk by faith and not by sight. Thus, you must not allow yourself to be discouraged by the different physical circumstances and happenings. Keep your trust in God who never fails and you will live to testify his goodness.
Instead of doubting God, doubt yourself because you can fail but God never fails. He is able to accomplish all that his word says about you because he is God. By faith here, we are referring to a mature faith. A mature faith is one which has full confidence and certainty in the accomplishment of God’s yet unfulfilled promises. Such a faith goes together with love and obedience to the personality of God. It is this kind of faith which Jesus meant when saying that anyone who has faith in God can move mountains and displace oceans. Look not on your faith because it is weak but keep your focus on that which is offered by Christ. In the light of building your faith, we’ll recommend that you read the following articles:
God will help you to become debt free (Isaiah 50:7)
God is more than ready to help you break off from the heavy chains of debt. Debt is more of a trap aimed at catching and stealing your happiness and peace of mind. Being a vicious cycle of a horrible kind, it has the ability to cause trouble in marriages, relationships, and health. While investment is a positive financial step taken in order to better tomorrow, debt is out to spend your tomorrow before it comes. Review your thinking on this negative financial aspect and launch a spiritual war against it. With God on your side, there is no battle that you won’t come out victorious. For the law of supernatural debt release to work, you’ll need to start by examining your life and making sure that you are following God’s ways.
Sin can block your spiritual blessings from manifesting physically. With this in mind, there are things which you have to avoid like unforgiveness, doubt, hatred, jealousy, and lack of love. By fleeing from sin and obeying God’s commands, he will help you in whatever situation you are into. Learn and master what it takes to be a man of character as you stay out of debts. Face life as a courageous man or woman. If you have to pay taxes or settle some other financial aspects, go ahead and pay or settle them without hesitation. Pray and request God’s help in paying to everyone what you owe them. For the scriptures say that we should owe nothing to anyone apart from our Christian duty of loving (Romans 13:7-8). This is a clear call for integrity among Christians.
How Christians should view debts
There is much in the Bible about debts and how Christians should handle them. From the general point of view, the Bible does not encourage debts among God’s children. Many are asking themselves why? The answer is simple, we are told in Proverbs 22:6-7 that anyone who borrows money is a slave to the lender. And being God’s children, we are slaves to nobody. That’s why we have to stand strong in the faith and speak words of financial freedom into our lives through the authority in the name of Jesus Christ. Stick the saying that “With God I shall not lack” in your heart. For more information about this, read our article entitled what does the Bible say about debt.
In the same sense, we’ll like to take your attention back to the Old Testament in 2 Kings 6:5. We read about a man who was using a borrowed ax and it accidentally fell into the water and drowned. While the people were worried about how they’ll pay it back, God sent his prophet who called the iron ax to float back to the surface. It happened just as God commanded. This is another proof that God’s will for us is to stay debt free. We can as well talk of famous Biblical figures like Abraham, Solomon, and Joseph. They were highly blessed by God in terms of finances. And because we are serving the same God today, He is able to do what he did in the past. That’s why the scriptures say that God is the same yesterday, today and forever (Hebrews 13:8).
The Supernatural War Plan against Debt
A heart full of love that runs after God is the medium through which the law of supernatural debt release is manifested before men and women. Romans 13:7-8 calls on every Christian to walk in love as a way of pleasing God. The love of God and his creatures is the key to having the law of supernatural debt cancellation work for you. God is love and anything done out of love is against his nature. It is love that makes all our efforts in loving and serving God worth something. In implementing a supernatural war plan against debt, make sure that you do not doubt God’s ability to free you from debt. Doubt will lead to no results whereas confidence in him will open financial doors in your life.
In accordance to Luke 4:18, you should rejoice and announce your release from debt captivity through Christ. Decree through the authority in the name of Jesus Christ that you are free from debts. Speaks words of faith to your financial life. Do not be discouraged even if things seem in the physical not to be working the way you perceive them in the spiritual. For we walk by Faith and not by sight. God will turn things for your favor at the time you are not expecting. He is behind the scene doing something for your good. Hold tight to him and you will live to give many testimonies. Remain focus and keep on persisting in your battle against debts no matter your condition.

God can miraculously move through people to cancel debts just as we can read from Philemon 18-19 (AMP): “If he has done you any wrong in any way, or owes anything [to you], charge that to my account. I, Paul, write it with my own hand—I promise to pay it in full….” We clearly hear God’s servant Apostle Paul taking charge of a debt which was not his. Let’s also read from Luke 10:30-37: “The Samaritan took out two pence and gave them to the owner of the inn and said to him, “Take care of him. And as we all know, it is an authoritative guide when it comes to knowing and doing what God wants. Christians are not to live their lives as those in the world do. They must always seek God’s opinion about their decisions, plans, and goals. It is in this light that we are going to unfold what does the Bible say about debt. By knowing what the Bible says about debt, you will be able to take better decisions which are pleasing to God. Biblical knowledge on debt is full of wisdom which will inspire and guide you to be successful when it comes to managing your finances.
It is worth defining debt before continuing with our writing on what does the Bible say about debt. If we are asked what is a debt, we’ll say in simple terms that it is money owed or due. Those struggling with their finances are well versed with the term debt. Although it is a situation which nobody aims for, it is more of a reality in our midst. There are a several reasons that lead people into debts. Note that nobody gets into debts out of desire to do so. Some do embrace debts out of emergencies and inevitable situations which are threatening their well-being. Others get into debts so as to ameliorate their financial lives, start businesses, or resolve emergency problems. Whatever the case, there is much to worry about debts than simply embracing them.
Biblical Wisdom concerning debts
Still on what does the Bible say about debt, we’ll refer to a slave and master relationship. Proverbs 22:7 says that the borrower is a slave to the lender. That is, when you are in debt, you are into a slave/master relationship with the lender. In this relationship, you are the slave while the lender is your master. Living such is wrong because we are recommended by the scriptures not to be slaves to anyone. This not withstanding, God wants us to lend to others. You can confirm this by reading Deuteronomy 15:6, Matthew 5:42, and Deuteronomy 28:12. In short, God’s will is for everyone to be able to meet up with the basic needs of life. Being the father of love, he gave us everything which we need to make our lives on Earth. And we ought to share with others our blessings.
Still on what does the Bible say about debt, we are required to pay back what we borrowed. Taking this lightly can lead you into sin whereby you are kept under God’s judgement and punishment. Almost everyone find it easy to borrow but when it comes to paying back, they find it difficult. Some people willingly decide not to pay back while others simply lack the desire to pay off what they owe. Such should not exist among Christians because it makes God angry and goes against his instructions. Romans 13:7 calls on all those who are in debts to pay back what they owe without hesitation. As we are told in Psalms 37:21, only the wicked borrow and refuse to pay back. And for sure, God will judge and punish such people because they are a disgrace among his creatures.
What does the Bible not say about debt
If we are talking of what does the Bible say about debt then we should equally talk of what does the Bible not say about debt. Surely, there are things concerning debt which the Bible does not condemn. The Bible does not say it is a sin to be in debt but it rather points to the fact that it is wise to be debt free. Being debt free is full of many benefits than you can imagine. Being in debt messes up with your happiness and emotional well-being. Also remember that God did not say in the Bible that He will provide through a loan. Thus, when you are accelerating your feet to reach out for a credit card, have in mind that it has never been God’s method of providing to his children. Credit cards will only help to get you soaked in debts the more.
What is God saying about your financial life
Let’s hear from God by reading Deuteronomy 28:12 – “The Lord will open for you His good storehouse, the heavens, to give rain to your land in its season and to bless all the work of your hand; and you shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.” From this scripture, it is clear that God wants his children to prosper. Always speak this scripture when making a prayer for financial miracle. Learn what it takes to remain in God’s light so as to be counted among his children. He had promised to always help His children and provide for them. Put God first in everything that you do and He will bless all your efforts and make you prosperous. You will live to lend but not borrow because you’ll have all that you need to make a living.
God cannot keep us out of debt
It is without doubt that God’s will for us is to be debt free. But note that He cannot keep us out of debts. Being out of debt and enjoying a debt free life is our choice and not God’s. We a stewards of the money which God has entrusted to us. And as a result, we have a free will to do whatever pleases us with this money. We can chose to foolishly spend it all, save it, invest and make it grow or bury it without purpose. We can even chose to spend more than what we have. The choice is ours but such foolish steps will likely lead us into debts again and again. However, he who manages his money well will end up enjoying a debt free life.
