Archbishop Benson Idahosa was one of the Christian fathers in Africa. He brought a lot of Christ-like inspiration during his days and greatly influenced the way men and women perceived Christianity. Behold, Archbishop Benson Idahosa was a man of great faith. In fact, he had a robust faith. He believed God for Who He Said He Was. He took God for His Word, acted on it and God revealed Himself to him through miracles, visions, signs, and wonders. In his book entitled ‘Faith For All Nations‘ he says, “Everybody faces a storm in life, but all through this book I’m going to teach you timeless truths and principles about how you can overcome ‘the storms of life’. Your storms must not overcome you, you must overcome them.”
When you don’t know what to do in the storm or the hour of distress – God knows what to do.
Storms of life are real, not imaginary stories from children’s fairy tales.
Millions of people never graduate from the school of self-pity and never learn anything beyond asking WHY, year after year. This is the devil’s trump card. Leave the WHYS behind you. Go on!
Let one thing control your mind if you are a child of God – Jesus knows something about the situation you are going through that you don’t know.
We all know that there is no such thing as a “storm-free” life. Therefore, agreeing that there is not a storm-free life on Earth, then the only visible alternative open to you under the circumstances is to learn how to take control of the storm.
Religious faith is not transmitted genetically.
Instead of seeing the storms through your financial upsets, marital problems, business upheavals, depression, and living vulnerably to every physical plague that ravages human beings, discover that God has become your companion for victory through life’s adversities.
Jesus Christ will unfailingly tell you when He meets a person in crisis, problem, or storm of life. He says, “Be of good cheer!”
Discouragement will come in the storms of life. Don’t let it possess you. Worse still, a countenance will ruin the beauty of God’s glory in you.
Fear of the known will destroy you. Fear will cause you to take rush decisions contrary to the Word of God.
A whole lot of the crises and storms of life Christians or people of the world run into are self-inflicted.
You will discover that if you obey God, neither the press nor anything else is big enough to destroy you.
But the secret of faith is continually saying what God said.
Faith is progressive. It does not pretend that obstacles don’t exist. Faith sees the obstacles or crisis and supersedes it.
It is true that you will never live without some kind of fear. The danger is to allow it to becloud your faith, rule your heart, or affect God’s voice in the vision you have received.
The power of God transcends political and geographical barriers.
Unbelief by simple definition is believing anything no matter what we think to the contrary.
Your storms must not overcome you, you must overcome them.
It is without a doubt that during the earthly ministry of Jesus Christ, he raised many dead people. The Bible tells us that He went about doing good. Throughout his earthly ministry, he healed all who came to him with sicknesses of all kinds.
The Bible tells us that he gave sight to the blind, strengthened the legs of the lame to walk, opened the ears of the deaf to hear, commanded the dumb to speak, and liberated all those who were under the captivity of Satan.
Remember what Jesus Christ said in John 14 verse 12 ” Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.”
In this verse, Jesus Christ is telling us that anyone who believes in Him will be able to do the things that He deed and even do greater things.
Hence, we can say that it is all about faith in God for the Bible says that all things are possible for God to do. Likewise, the Bible says that all things are possible for he that believes. It is important to note that the impossible exists only in the human realm and not in that of God. Apart from Jesus Christ, a good number of prophets in the Bible also raised many dead people.
Below are cases in the Bible that the dead were brought back to life:
1. Elijah raised the son of the Zarephath widow from the dead (1 Kings 17 Verses 17 to 22).
2. Elisha raised the son of the Shunammite woman from the dead (2 Kings 4 Verses 32 to 35).
3. A man was raised from the dead when his body touched Elisha’s bones (2 Kings 13 Verse 20, and 21)
4. Many saints rose from the dead at the resurrection of Jesus (Matthew 27 Verse 50 to 53).
5. Jesus rose from the dead (Matthew 28 Verse 5 to 8; Mark 16 Verse 6; Luke 24 Verse 5, and 6).
6. Jesus raised the son of the widow of Nain from the dead (Luke 7 Verses 11 to 15).
7. Jesus raised the daughter of Jairus from the dead (Luke 8 Verse 41, 42, 49 to 55).
8. Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead (John 11 Verse 1-44). 9. Peter raised Dorcas from the dead (Acts 9 Verse 36-41).
10. Eutychus was raised from the dead by Paul (Acts 20 Verse 9, 10).
Behold, Jesus Christ raised the dead, His immediate Apostles deed the same just as He had said in John 14 Verse 12. Jesus said anyone who believes in Him will do what he deed and even do greater things because he was going to the Father Almighty. His immediate Apostles believed and it worked for them. What of us today? Are we not also believers who share the same faith with the Apostles of Old. Of course, we are because Jesus Christ does not change. Hebrews 13 Verse 8 tells us that Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. It is in this light that Archbishop Benson Idahosa stepped out in faith to raise a dead and it worked. Glory be to God.
Let’s hear him from his own words: “As a young Christian, I once heard my pastor say during a morning service that Christians could raise the dead in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. I believed it with all my heart. And flying around on my bicycle in those days, I went through the city of Benin in search of a dead person to raise to life. After about five hours of hard searching I found a compound where a little girl had died a few hours before. The corpse had been cleaned and prepared for burial. I walked boldly up to the father of the dead child. “The God whom I serve can bring your baby back to life,” I told him. “Will you permit me to pray for the child and bring her back to life?” The man was startled, but he agreed. With great enthusiasm, I walked into the room and up to the bed. The child was cold and dead. With strong faith in the Lord, I called on the Lord to restore the child back to life. I turned to the corpse and called it by name, “Arise in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.” Oh Glory to God! The corpse sneezed, heavily, alas. The child had come back to life!”
What Does The Bible Say About Suffering? It is without doubt that many are wondering what the Bible says about suffering. It is with this in mind that we hereby make this piece of writing. Suffering is one of the topics in Christianity that is quite challenging to explain. Although challenging, it is not impossible. And we hope to demystify the process of suffering as a Christian. One might ask, “how can a loving God allow suffering to continue in a world that He created?” The topic of suffering is much more than a philosophical issue for those who have endured massive and intense suffering themselves. For such people, it is more of a deep-seated personal and emotional issue. This makes it important for us to learn what the Bible has to say about it.
As followers of Christ, we are not to perceive suffering the way the world does. Rather, we are to handle it in a way that pleases God Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth. God does all things for the good of those who love Him (Romans 8:28). There is a purpose for God allowing us to experience suffering on Earth. Even in this suffering, He is doing everything for our good. Never doubt God’s ability to protect, guide, rescue, provide, bless, strengthen, encourage, and forgive those who belong to His Kingdom. Jeremiah 29:11 says, “I alone know the plans I have for you, plans to bring you prosperity and not disaster, plans to bring about the future you hope for.” That is, God is always in control. Even in the midst of suffering, do not doubt His faithfulness for He will never leave nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6).
What Does The Bible Say About Suffering?
In teaching how we should perceive, endure and deal with suffering, the Bible is startlingly realistic. The Bible goes to the extent of devoting an entire book that deals with the issue of suffering. This Biblical book revolves around the life of a man named Job. The first pages of the book presents a scene in Heaven that provides the reader with the background of Job’s suffering. We are told that Job suffered because God contested with Satan. According to the Bible, this contest was not known by Job and his friends. In ignorance, they tried to explain Job’s suffering without success, until Job finally rested in nothing but the faithfulness of God and the Hope of His Redemption. Diligently note that neither job nor his friends understood at the time the reasons for his suffering despite the fact that he was a Man of God (Faithful to God’s Commands).
The Bible further tells us that when Job is finally confronted to the Lord, Job maintains silence. One might think that Job’s silence trivialized the intense loss and pain that he had patiently endured. However, it was not the case. Remember that on a single day, Job lost all his children, livestock, wealth, and everything that brought joy to his human eyes. Job’s silent response was underscoring the importance of trusting God’s purposes in the midst of suffering, even when we do not actually know what those purposes are. Brethren, keep in mind that suffering, just like other human experiences, is directed and controlled by the sovereign wisdom of God that never fails. Even if we may never know the specific reason for our suffering, we must always trust in our sovereign God. He is the answer and solution to our suffering.
What does the Scriptures say about Suffering?
Apart from the story of Job, the Scriptures also point to the life and sufferings of Joseph in the Book of Genesis. We are told that Joseph was sold into slavery by his own brothers. While serving as a slave in Egypt, he was indicted on false charges and thrown into prison. But because God was still on the Heavenly Throne, Joseph’s suffering led to his promotion as governor of Egypt, second only to Pharaoh himself. After undergoing suffering, persecution, hatred, and rejection, Joseph is blessed and promoted by God to a position to make provision to the nations of the world during a great famine, including his own family and brothers who sold him into slavery.
The essence of Joseph’s story is found in his speech to his brothers as we can read from Genesis 50:19-21 – “You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives. So then, don’t be afraid. I will provide for you and your children.” In the same light, Romans 8:28 says, “We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” The Scripture also tells us how the Psalmist David endured suffering during his days. This suffering is reflected in many of his poems collected in the Book of Psalms.
David’s suffering
King David cries out in Psalm 22 as he says, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from the words of my groaning? Oh my God, I cry out by day but you do not answer, by night, and am not silent. Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One; you are the praise of Israel. In you our fathers put their trust; they trusted and you delivered them. They cried to you and were saved; in you they trusted and were not disappointed. But I am a worm and not a man, scorned by men and despised by the people. All who see me mock me; they hurl insults, shaking their heads: ‘He trusts in the Lord; let the Lord rescue him. Let him deliver him, since he delights in him.’”
Here, the issue of suffering remains a mystery to David. He wonders why God does not intervene to put and end to his suffering and pain. David perceives God as the Holy Enthroned One, the praise of Israel. The Almighty God dwells in Heaven where all things are good, where there is no weeping nor fear, talk less of hunger and hatred. David furthers his complains by saying that “dogs have surrounded me; a band of evil men has encircled me, they have pierced my hands and my feet. I can count all my bones; people stare and gloat over me. They divide my garments among them and cast lots for my clothing.”
Did God answer David?
Upon reading the questions and worries of David concerning human suffering, one is likely to ask whether God answered him. The answer is yes, many centuries later, David received the answers and solutions he was requesting from God. The Scriptures teach us that roughly one millennium later, a descendant of David was killed on the Cross at Calvary. On the Cross, Jesus Christ endured the suffering and shame of His forefather. His garments were divided among His enemies and He was stared at and derided. On the Cross, Jesus Christ uttered the words with which David opens Psalm 22: “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” By so doing, Jesus Christ identified Himself with the suffering of David. Today, anyone who Believes, Sincerely Repents, and starts obeying the Teachings of Jesus Christ is saved from Eternal Suffering and given Eternal Life.
Jesus Christ, the beloved Son of God, and Perfect Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world is He in whom the fullness of God dwells. He lived on Earth as a human being and has endured thirst, hunger, temptation, nakedness, shame, persecution, rejection, mockery, betrayal, injustice, and death. All these qualify Him as One who fulfills the longing of Job: “If only there were someone to arbitrate between us, to lay his hand upon us both, someone to remove God’s rod from me, so that his terror would frighten me no more. Then I would speak up without fear of him, but as it now stands with me, I cannot” (Job 9:33).
Ten (10) Biblical Facts About Suffering (Derived from the Bible verses about Suffering)
1. Suffering has several faces
It is normal for Christians to experience “many troubles” – mental, spiritual, physical, and/or emotional sufferings (Psalm 34:19). The basic truth in Christianity is that all Christians have or will suffer (John 16:33; Acts 14:22). Suffering is a Christian experience which you should not find strange. Remember how Apostle Paul experienced various faces of suffering (2 Corinthians 4:8-10). If Jesus Christ our master suffered, what more of us, His servants? However, there are times that we experience suffering because of our foolishness. Fools are setup to suffer harm (Proverbs 13:20), while lazy people are likely to go in hungry (Proverbs 19:15), and adulterers reap bad consequences (Proverbs 6:32). Although suffering can strike us as a result of sin, all creation, even the righteous, will groan under the weight of sin and suffering (Romans 8:20-22). It is only in Heaven that there is no pain, suffering, or grief (Revelation 21:4).
2. Suffering comes our way for a purpose
Behold, suffering is not without purpose. The Scriptures tell us that God uses circumstances to teach powerful lessons or accomplish His Perfect Will in our lives. Such was the case with Joseph (Genesis 37-50). Joseph’s suffering led to many people being rescued (Genesis 50:20). Hosea’s marriage to Gomar, an unfaithful woman, is another great example. Hosea’s marital suffering was as a result of God’s love for His people (Hosea 3:1). As Biblically-grounded believers, our sufferings should give us a reason to pray the more, fast the more, and praise God the more. In every situation that you find yourself, give thanks to God because He is in control. It is also important to understand here that there are times the God uses Earthly calamities as agents of change, calling for repentance (Luke 13:4-5).
3. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ suffered
Jesus in the flesh experienced weariness, persecution, suffering, and other human weakness. Although tempted in the very way that humans are, He came out without sin. In the face of impeding suffering, Jesus maintained a mindset of “Not my will, but yours be done” (Luke 22:42). Jesus Christ said that His people will follow in His footsteps, and that would include suffering (John 15:20). Jesus Christ left us an example of how to suffer (1 Peter 2:19-21). Also, He said that all His followers who successfully endure suffering for His Name’s sake will be blessed above measure (Matthew 5:10-12). It was with this in mind that Apostle Paul deeply desired to share in Christ’s suffering (Philippians 3:10). This point is highly supported by many Bible verses about suffering.
4. Suffering can be a battlefield for spiritual growth
There are some sufferings that come our way because of the battle for the believer’s allegiance, as it was the case of Job (Job 1:11-12). This Scripture makes us to understand that Job was not aware of the conversation between God and Satan that setup the battle which brought suffering in his life. Although Job agonize over the things he could not understand, he did not question God’s sovereignty (Job 10:2). Even today, Satan still visits believers in times of suffering, uncertainty, persecution, pain, or rejection, tempting them to doubt God’s sovereignty. When facing such, we should always trust in God just as Job did and God came to his aid (Job 2:9-10).
5. Suffering is mysterious and pervasive
Although the followers of Christ know only “in parts” (1 Corinthians 13:9), the origin of suffering is clear. Genesis 3 portrays Satan as the author of sin, and suffering came on mankind as a result of Adam’s sin. Because of Adam’s rebellion, the entire humanity has been stained by sin. That is, we all have sinful natures (Romans 5:12-21). Also note that people become sinners by choice (Romans 3:23; Galatians 6:8). We must understand that suffering because of sin is a tragic part of all human life. However, there is no trial that can separate the Christian from Christ’s love (Romans 8:35). David himself struggled withe the suffering of sin as we can read from Psalm 13:1 – “How long will you hide your face from me?” The truth is that sin separates us from God (Isaiah 59:2).
6. Suffering teaches us to seek and trust God because He is able
As children of God, our suffering should be one that teaches us to seek and trust Him the more. It was with an understanding of this that the Psalmist said his afflictions were good, because they made him more faithful and taught him God’s commands (Psalm 119:67, 71). As followers of Christ, we should learn to respond to suffering in godly ways. It is without doubt that all those who desire to live godly will be persecuted (2 Timothy 3:12; Philippians 1:29). But even in the midst of persecution and rejection, believers are able to draw closer to God as they seek and find His ways (Matthew 5:10-11; 1 Peter 2:19-20). This is inline with the best Bible verses on suffering.
7. Suffering finds refuge in community
Galatians 6:2 teaches that Christians are meant to carry each other’s burdens. Likewise, the Church is meant to be a refuge for those who hurt, a place where those who suffer from all kinds of troubles can come for Divine and human help. Loving and helping those who are suffering is a godly act. It is a sign that God is in our midst (1 John 4:12). Remember that were there is genuine love, God is present. As you’ll learn from the Bible verses about suffering, helping does in suffering is a godly act.
8. Suffering matures and equips us for the advancement of God’s Kingdom
It is challenging to build a mature faith in the midst of extreme trials. But faith which was previously in place through the hearing of God’s word is strengthened and tested in the midst of trials. Lessons learned in the midst of suffering can equip a believer for future ministry work (2 Corinthians 1:3-4). God in His wisdom also uses suffering to help Christians bear more fruits (John 15:2). Perhaps you were not aware but suffering produces endurance, refined character, and hope (Romans 5:3-5; 1 Peter 5:10). Through suffering, God teaches His children the attitude of perseverance and makes them sensitive to others’ needs (James 1:2-4; Matthew 25:35-36).
9. Suffering prepares us for greater glory
It is rather unfortunate that we don’t like suffering and are always trying to avoid it. Apostle Paul points out that the Christian’s “light and momentary” troubles achieve for them greater joy and eternal glory that outweighs anything they will suffer (2 Corinthians 4:17-18). We can as well say that suffering for Jesus’ sake proves the believer’s faith. Always remember that the justified, sanctified believer will be glorified in Heaven. Suffering proves the genuineness of the Christian’s faith, and results in “praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed” (1 Peter 1:6-9).
10. Suffering can bring glory to God
There are times that God allows things that are undeserved – diseases and disabilities -to display His marvelous work. A good example of such is the healing of the man blind from birth (John 9:1-3). Upon restoring the man’s sight, Jesus Christ said to His disciples that the blindness was to show the marvelous works of God through his healing. Likewise, Lazarus’ sickness was “for the glory of God,” and Jesus would also received glory (John 11:1-4). Lazarus’ death gave Jesus the opportunity to encourage and boost the faith of His followers. Jesus said, “Didn’t I tell you that you would see God’s glory if you believe?” (John 11:40). In the same light, Apostle Paul’s suffering – his “thorn” in the flesh – tormented him, but he found in his human weakness an opportunity to boast of Christ’s power (2 Corinthians 12:7-9).

What Does The Bible Say About Sickness? In fact, there is much that the Bible says about sickness. Our Heavenly Father cares about our spiritual life and our physical life. He is the one who created the human body. That is why we can say inline with His Word that He is pleased when we enjoy good health and vigor. You can be certain that God is indeed please to see us in good health because the Scriptures say so. However, we are in a world where our bodies endure sickness, pain, and decay. There are even times that we ourselves abuse our own bodies. But in most cases, ailments occur because – well, we don’t always know why, nor God promised that we’ll understand why everything happens in the world He created.
However, healing still occurs – sometimes in dramatic ways, as it was in the time of Jesus Christ and His Apostles. Jesus moved from place to place preaching the God News about God’s Kingdom, Delivering the Captives, and Healing all kinds of bodily afflictions. Likewise did His disciples, whom He promised that they could all do the same works that He did. Brethren, let no one deceive you to think otherwise than sticking to the fact that God is still on the throne. That is, He is still Who He Is, Who He Was, and Who He Will Be. That is, God has not changed and will not change in times to come. He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow (Hebrews 13:8). God is still able to do in our days what He did in the past and even in the days to come.
What Does The Bible Say About Sickness?
What does the Scripture say about Sickness?
Behold, God still works to heal people in ways that defy medical knowledge. That is why we can say that it is never wrong to pray for healing for ourselves or others. The Scriptures call on us to pray for whatever we need. With this in mind, it makes sense to call on God for help in moments of pain. However, healing does not always occur, even to the most loving, God-centered people. This happens for reasons God alone knows. Whatever the case, the Scriptures promise us that even if we do not get healing in this life, there is something of greater importance awaiting us afterward. Jeremiah 17:14 says, “O LORD, you alone can heal me; you alone can save. My praises are for you alone!” Likewise, Jeremiah 30:17 says, “I will give you back your health and heal your wounds, says the LORD.”
Part of Jesus’ Earthly Ministry revolved around healing. The Holy Gospels recount how He moved from place to place healing all kinds of sicknesses. With this in mind, one might ask, “what has become of Jesus’ healing ministry?” Could it be that this healing ministry is no longer operational? The obvious answer is NO. One might ask why? Note that Jesus’ ministry continues till His Second Coming. Healing is part of Jesus’ ministry in as much as preaching and deliverance. Although, He physically departed from the face of the Earth, His ministry did not end. It was for the continuation of His ministry after His Resurrection and Ascension that He trained His Apostles who intern trained others. Matthew 10:1 says, “Jesus called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to cast out evil spirits and to heal every kind of disease and illness.”
More facts about what the Scripture says about Sickness
In Apostle Paul’s first letter to the Corinthians, he tells them about spiritual gifts, one of which is healing. It is clear that the gift of healing did not end with Jesus and His immediate Apostles. Apostle Paul operated in this gift. The Scripture even tells us how handkerchiefs that came in contact with him were taken to heal the sick (Acts 19:12). Also, in his first letter to the Corinthians, he encourages them to go after the gifts of the Holy Spirit in order to maintain the body of Christ (Church) alive. These gifts were meant to comfort, encourage, and exhort the people. Hence, we can say that even in the Church far from the physical presence of the immediate Apostles, the gift of healing was in active operation.
What Apostle Paul revealed about the gift of healing
Apostle Paul says in 1 Corinthians 12:6-10 – “There are different ways God works in our lives, but it is the same God who does the work through all of us. God manifests the Spirit through each person for the good of the entire church. To one person the Spirit gives a word of special wisdom; to another he gives the gift of special knowledge. The Spirit gives special faith to another, and to someone else he gives the power to heal the sick. He gives one person the power to perform miracles, and to another the ability to prophesy. He gives someone else the ability to distinguish between spirits. Still another person is given the ability to speak in different kinds of tongues, and another is given the ability to interpret what is being said.”
1 Corinthians 12:11 – “It is the same and only Holy Spirit who distributes these gifts. He alone decides which gift each person should have.”
1 Corinthians 12:27-28 – “Now all of you together are Christ’s body, and each one of you is a separate and necessary part of it. Here is a list of some of the members that God has placed in the body of Christ: first are apostles, second are prophets, third are teachers, then those who do miracles, those who have the gift of healing, those who can help others, those who can get others to work together, those who speak in different kinds of tongues.”
More of Apostle Paul’s teachings
Apostle Paul in one of his letters talked about a “thorn in the flesh,” some kind of physical ailment. Apostle Paul was certainly a man of faith but he was not healed of it. Before you ask why, note that only God knows why. However, Paul accepted his fate and maintained faithfulness to God. Apostle Paul in His own words said: “Three different times I begged the Lord to take it away. Each time he said, “My gracious favor is all you need. My power works best in your weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may work through me. Since I know it is all for Christ’s good, I am quite content with my weaknesses and with insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong” (2 Corinthians 12:8-10).
The Scripture also tells us of how Timothy, who was Apostle Paul’s faithful spiritual son regularly suffered from sickness. Again, before you ask why? Note that only God knows why. The Scripture tells us how God healed many through Apostle Paul but did not use him to bring physical healing to Timothy. Only God knows why because the Scripture recounts how Timothy followed Apostle Paul and helped in doing the work of Christ. 1 Timothy 5:23 says, “Do not drink water only, but take a little wine to help your digestion, since you are ill so often.” All we can say here is that God does as He likes. He is not a respecter of men. That’s why we should always pray for His will to be done and not ours.
What you should keep in mind about Sickness
Note that every person who has ever been healed has died. Those who were healed and are still alive will end up dying. Even Jesus’ friend, Lazarus, whom He raised from the dead, died again. God did not make any promise in the Bible that our present bodies, whatever their situation, will stay healthy or last forever. But luckily enough, the Bible promises something much more glorious: a new body which will last forever.
In support of this, 2 Corinthians 5:1-4 says, “We know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down — when we die and leave these bodies — we will have a home in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands. We grow weary in our present bodies, and we long for the day when we will put on our heavenly bodies like new clothing. For we will not be spirits without bodies, but we will put on new heavenly bodies. Our dying bodies make us groan and sigh, but it’s not that we want to die and have no bodies at all. We want to slip into our new bodies so that these dying bodies will be swallowed up by everlasting life.”
Also, 2 Corinthians 4:16 says, “Though our bodies are dying, our spirits are being renewed every day.”
Why does God allow Sickness?
We frequently hear people asking why God allows sickness. In search of answers, we can only turn to the different Bible verses about sickness. The issue of sickness is always challenging to deal with. However, we must always remember that God’s ways are not our ways (Isaiah 55:9). It is rather unfortunate that whenever we are suffering from a disease, illness, or injury, we are more focused on the pains than what good God might bring about as a result. Always keep in mind that God can bring about good from any situation (Romans 8:28). Today, we regularly hear many people giving testimonies by looking back on times of sickness as times when they grew closer to God and received His blessings. Others testify of having learned to trust God more in times of sickness. Behold, this is not to say that sickness is always from God.
Also, we are not saying that God always inflicts us with sickness in order to teach a spiritual lesson. We dwell in a sin-curses world where sickness, illness, and death will always be with us. The fall of man in the Garden of Eden led to his expulsion and rendered his body prone to sickness, sin, illness, and death. There are certain sicknesses that are as a result of the natural cause of things in this world. Sickness can also be the result of a demonic attack. The Bible describes instances were sickness or physical affliction was caused by Satan and demons (Matthew 17:14-18; Luke 13:10-16). There are some sicknesses that are not God caused but from Satan. Even when Satan afflicts us physically, God is still in control. He can still turn it for our good as it was the case of job (Job 1 and Job 2).

He was despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief; and as one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. The Power of the Holy Spirit is one of dominion, victory, healing, deliverance, success, blessings and above all salvation. These are things which we long to have. We are made heirs of these heavenly things through the power of the Holy Spirit. It is for this reason that people want to know the ways to receive the power of the Holy Spirit. You must not stress up yourself because there are many ways on how to receive the power of the Holy Spirit. Just continuously read as we unfold them to you. Remember to subscribe for further teachings.
God promises to give us special power if we will turn to Him from our evil, wicked, and unholy ways. This special power which is imparted on us by the Holy Spirit will help us in facing extraordinary challenges in living our daily Christian lives. Since the ascension of Jesus Christ into heaven, this power has been a major tool in accompanying and making possible the impossible things on the ways of those who are witnessing the gospel to the ends of the world. That’s why Jesus Christ in Luke 24:49 requested that His disciples should wait in the city until they were clothed with the power of the Holy Spirit before they could step out to witness what they had seen and heard.
As a child of God who is a witness of Jesus Christ, you eventually need the power of the Holy Spirit in order to live a victorious life. The reception of the power of the Holy Spirit is not a one-time scenario as we can read from Acts 2:4 that tells us that the Apostles who were filled with the power of the Holy Spirit regularly came together to seek additional power for greater threats and missions that were ahead of them.
As followers of Jesus Christ today, it is our duty to assist in the Heavenly Father’s vine yard because the harvest is ready but there are very few workers to gather it in (Luke 10:2). This is to say that it is our Christian duty to continuously spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the ends of the World in order to safe souls from the fire of hell. For us to successfully accomplish this mission, we will need to ask and wait for Jesus Christ to fill us with the power of the Holy Spirit in accordance with Acts 1:8 where Jesus is asking His witnesses to wait until they are filled with the power of the Holy Spirit which will accompany them to the ends of the world as they preach the Gospel.
Ways to receive the power of the Holy Spirit
Let us now look into our subject matter of how to receive the power of the Holy Spirit. Below are some helpful ways:
1. Consume and get fully soaked in the word of God
This is one of the best ways to receive the Holy Spirit. It moves the heart and hand of God to open the heavens and allow His power to over shadow you. God equips you with the power of the Holy Spirit in order for you to successfully proclaim His message all round the world. Thus, if you are not verse with His teachings, it is needless to expect the power of the Holy Spirit because you won’t receive it. Jesus Christ himself spoke spirit and life giving words to us (John 6:63). Hence, by soaking our whole bodies and spirits in to the word of God that brings life, it will eventually build our faith which will in turn permeate us to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit.
2. Believe and stand firm on all the promises in the Word of God
As it is often said by prophet TB Joshua, our duty is to obey God’s laws while God’s duty is to fulfill His promises towards us. Apostle Paul tells us in Galatians 3:5 that miracles and wonders are done not thanks to the law but by hearing the words of Jesus Christ by faith. In addition, he further explains in Hebrews 11:6 that it is impossible to please God without faith. In other words, we are saying here that it is impossible to walk in the power of the Holy Spirit without having faith.
3. Let love lead
If we are mightily empowered by God yet lack love, all the fruits that we bear are sour and not acceptable in His presence. That is why Jesus took all His life on Earth emphasizing on the importance and significance of Love in the Christian race. At this point, we must say that there is no way that we can please God without love. By reading from John 15: 12, we hear Jesus requesting us to love our neighbors just as He did for us until the extent of taking our place on the cross. A heart filled with love offers sweet scents that are pleasing to the Lord. Hence, we must cultivate love towards one another if we are serious about putting into practice the ways on how to receive the Holy Spirit.
4. Regularly seek the face of God
The scriptures say that Jesus Christ came back filled with power after his 40 days of fasting in the desert. This is an example that shows us the importance of regularly isolating ourselves from the world in order to seek God’s face. One of the keys to receiving God’s power is certainly an extended prayer which goes alongside with fasting. Hence if we are serious about receiving the power of the Holy Spirit, it will be wise to keep aside few hours for God during the day, few minutes within the hours of the day, and few seconds within the minutes of the day. As Christians, we must regularly pray without ceasing in order to overcome the challenges and trials brought on our way by Satan and his agents. This will help us to remain focus in seeking the face of the Lord who will in turn bless us with the power of the Holy Spirit.
5. Make your body a temple for the Holy Spirit
Receiving God’s power once is not sufficient. You’ll need to continuously dwell in Him while He also dwells in you in order to continuously empower you for greater challenges and causes which you must follow. John 14 reveals the benefits of dwelling in the presence of God. There is much to gain by keeping yourself clean for Him to dwell within. In other words, it explains how knowing and obeying God is vital in having a life that is filled with the supernatural power of God. In John 15, Jesus Christ is calling on us to abide in Him while He also abides in us. He further tells us that He is the vine and we are the branches. And that just as the branch cannot bear fruits without the vine, we cannot live a life of power without his presence. Furthermore, he encourages us to remain linked to Him in order to bear good fruits of power which are pleasing to our Heavenly Father.
Fasting is one of the most important spiritual exercises. It features tremendous benefits when done rightly. That’s why we hereby write to present the Best Bible Verses About Fasting worth knowing by all Christians. An objective look across the Old Testament reveals how God commanded the children of Israel to observe several designated times of fasting. During the days of Christ, we realize that fasting was neither commanded nor forbidden. However, Christ showed us an example of a fasting life and even talked of His followers fasting after His ascension into Heaven. As His followers, it is just normal for us to embrace a fasting life in His likeness. Most early Christians practice prayer and fasting regularly as a way of growing spiritually.
Behold brethren, let no one deceive you for fasting and prayer are Christian duties which should be observed diligently. Jesus Christ Himself affirmed that after His death, fasting would be appropriate for His followers. Let’s support this message by reading from Luke 5:35 – “The days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast in those days.” In simple terms, fasting clearly has a place and purpose in the lives of Christians today. This spiritual truth is supported by the Deep Spiritual Scriptures On Fasting. Fasting helps to establish a more intimate relationship between us and our savior, Jesus Christ. In addition, fasting opens our eyes on spiritual truths as it takes us for a higher spiritual walk with Christ Jesus.

In most cases as we can read from the Scriptures About Fasting, a spiritual fast has to do with abstaining from food while focusing on prayer. In simple terms, this can mean abstaining from snacks between meals, skipping one or two meals a day, abstaining from particular foods, or practicing a total fast from all food for one or more days. However, some people may not be able to fast from food altogether due to complicated medical situations. Such people may simply choose to abstain from certain foods, like chocolate or sugar, or from something different from food. The whole truth is that believer in Jesus Christ can fast from anything. That is, doing without something temporally in order to subdue the body and focus on prayer.
An example of fasting from anything here could be refraining from television or redirecting our focus from any earthly thing to the things of God. Such is still considered a spiritual fast so long as it pulls back the body from its desires and wants for the sake of focusing on the things of God. The Holy Scriptures present fasting as the very spiritual act of abstaining from Food, Drinks, or Bodily Desires in order to seek God’s face or will. Note that genuine fasting is led by the Holy Spirit just as it led Jesus Christ after His Baptism into the desert for fasting (Matthew 4:1-2). Such is the type of fasting that moves the heart and hand of God into action thereby manifesting or materializing what seems impossible to the human eye and mind.
The Purpose of Spiritual Fasting
You probably know that many people fast to lose weight. However, dieting is not the purpose of a spiritual fast. A spiritual fast rather provides unique spiritual benefits in the life of a believer. Fasting is like knocking the heavenly doors for divine help even in the face of hopeless situations (Matthew 7:7-8). Remember that All Things Are Possible With God Almighty. In short, impossibility exist only before the eyes and minds of men and women. God did it in the past, He is still doing it these days, and He will certainly do it even in times to come.
Whatever be the situation or problem that we are going through, let’s simply knock the doors of Heaven for a solution. Remember that Heaven is God’s dwelling place (Matthew 5:34). For God Himself spoke through Prophet Jeremiah saying, “Then you will call to me. You will come and pray to me, and I will answer you” (Jeremiah 29:12). Fasting requires self-control and discipline since the one practicing it must deny the natural desires of the flesh for God’s sake. Genuine spiritual fasting directs our hunger towards God. During this spiritual exercise, the believer’s focus is removed from the physical things of this world and actively concentrated on the Kingdom of God. In addition, it draws us closer to God and makes us more receptive to His voice. Hence, we hear God’s voice more clearly and are more willing to follow His ways.
What Fasting is Not
Fasting is not a public display of spirituality; but a practice between you and God. Spiritual fasting is not necessarily to move God to do something in our lives. At times, we fast just to experience a spiritual transformation or to go closer to God in as much as we can fast as a way of thanking Him for His goodness in our lives. Remember that fasting is a spiritual act between you and God alone. Hence, you should not make it a public show as the hypocrites do. As for such people, they’ve already received their public reward and should not expect anything from God. Christ pointed out that making this spiritual practice a public show actually forfeit its benefits. In addition to this, Christ instructed us to carryout our fasting in private and in all humility (Matthew 6:16-18).
Let’s support our point by reading from Matthew 6:16-18 – “And when you fast, do not look gloomy like the hypocrites, for they disfigure their faces that their fasting may be seen by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face, that your fasting may not be seen by others but by your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.”
How Long Should I Fast?
Truth be told, there is no specific duration for fasting. However, fasting, especially from food, should be limited to a reasonable length of time. Fasting for to long without directives from the Holy Spirit can cause severe harm to the body. Hence, your decision to fast should be guided by the Holy Spirit just as it did for Jesus Christ and other Biblical figures. It is recommended, especially for those who are still new in the fasting practice to seek medical and spiritual counsel before embarking on a prolonged fasting. While Jesus and Moses both fasted for 40 days and nights without food and water, it is without doubt that this was an impossible human achievement, which could only be achieved through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit and under its directives. There are stories of many who have tried this and ended up dying before completion.
Below are some examples of fasting from the Bible that you can embrace and boost your spiritual growth and walk with God:
One day or part of a day (1 Samuel 7:6; Judges 20:26; 2 Samuel 1:12; 3:35;Jeremiah 36:6; Nehemiah 9:1)
One-night fast (Daniel 6:18–24)
Three-day fasts (Acts 9:9; Esther 4:16)
Seven-day fasts (2 Samuel 12:16–23; 1 Samuel 31:13)
Fourteen-day fast (Acts 27:33–34)
Twenty-one day fast (Daniel 10:3–13)
Forty-day fasts (Deuteronomy 9:9; Matthew 4:2; 1 Kings 19:8)
Fasts of unspecified lengths (Luke 2:37; Matthew 9:14; Acts 13:2; 14:23).”
Fasting duration groups
1. Occasional short fasts
The occasional short fast is characterized by self-denial of food or some other form of pleasure for a lasting period of say 6, 12, or 24-hours. Such is a one time fast for a purpose which does not come with a commitment to make it again.
2. Intermittent fast
The intermittent fast is normally a regular act of abstinence which can take place say one time a week. Here, you abstain from food or make some other kind of self sacrifice for the sake of getting closer to God. Such practice integrates the spiritual discipline of fasting in your life and makes it a lifestyle.
3. Longer fasts
A longer fast just like others can be about self-denial of food or some other sacrifice in order to focus on the things of God. Here, a non-food fast could be abstaining from watching TV from Monday to Friday. Hence, taking the time to meditate on the Laws of God, praise and worship Him. Here, you can as well dedicate every evening for a period of one week to pray and share the word of god with friends. You can as well go without food for a given period of time as led by the Holy Spirit. A longer-water only fast can last from one to three days. During this period, you abstain from food and consume just water. If you embrace something other than food for the fast, it is likely to last longer.
4. Extended fasts
The extended fast is actually the hard part of this spiritual exercise. Here, you willingly choose to give up something that you need or value for an extended period of time. An example of a non-food extended fast could be deciding to wake-up an hour earlier for spiritual meditation, praise and worship during a period of one month.
5. Open-ended fasts
Here, everything revolves around defining and accomplishing goals. That is, you make a commitment not to break the fast until your goals are achieved. Some extended fasts are open-ended fasts.
6. Occasional group fasts
Such is the type of fasting called by a Church, or group of Churches. Such can also apply to a nation during times of crisis. It is then that you hear a call for everyone to partake in such.
7. Longer group fasts
Here, the range of options for a group fast is extensive. Everyone can decide to fast at the same time or go on a rotational pattern. The members of the group will have to determine whether it is an open-ended fast or not.
How Often Should I Fast?
There is no fix spiritual pattern for Christian fasting. However, it is important for the New Testament Christians to regularly practice prayer and fasting. Since there is no Biblical command to fast, believers or followers of Christ should be led by God through prayer concerning when, for how long, and how often to fast.

The Things Fasting Does For Spiritual Life
Below are a few things that fasting does for our spiritual life or walk with Jesus Christ:
Fasting and Prayer makes us more receptive to God’s voice
Through fasting and prayer, we can hear God more clearly
Fasting an prayer strengthens our relationship with God and takes us closer to His sanctuary
Fasting and prayer can teach us how to pray the right motives and pray God’s will
Through fasting and prayer, we are able to build our faith for higher accomplishments for the Kingdom of God
Types of Fasting
1. Fasting from food
Here, the believer forgoes food partially or completely for a given period of time in order to focus on prayer and other things of God’s Kingdom. Here, he or she could pass more time praising God, worshiping Him, and/or meditating on His laws.
2. Fasting from drink
Here, the believer forgoes drink partially or fully for a given period of time in order to concentrate or focus on God and the things of Heaven. He/she can dwell on studying the Bible, praising God, and/or worshiping Him for who He is.
3. TV/Movie Fast
Here, you can forgo or take a break from a weekly favorite in order to study the Bible. That is, you forgo watching TV or your favorite movie in order to do something that please God or leads to the advancement of His kingdom like evangelism.
4. Social Media Fast
The social media fast is turning to become one of the most common types of fast in our culture. Today, it’s almost impossible for one to separate or stay off the social media for a significant period of time. Almost everyone visits these platforms repetitively or for a good number of times in a day. It is unfortunate that some have even become addicted to social media platforms and can’t stay off for up-to an hour. With this type of fasting, you simply log out of your accounts or delete them from your electronic devices and spend some quite time with God. During this time, you pray, praise and worship Him. In addition, you can also study His Laws and make them part of yourself.
5. Secular Music Fast
This is another form of fasting in which you decide to listen to a Christian radio station for period of time rather than listening to Top Hits on the Radio. Here, you can as well listen to a Christian podcast or audio-book rather than listening your favorite non-christian audios.
6. Fast from going out
Here, you simply have a look at your calendar and pick a night when you’d usually go out for pleasure and rather spend that time praising and worshiping God. You can as well spend it studying His word and writing His Laws in your heart so that they become part of you.
The circumstances under which some Biblical figures fasted
When seeking help and guidance from God (Ezra 8:21-23)
When focusing on God’s purpose (Luke 4:1, 2)
As a way of demonstrating their repentance over past sin(Joel 2:12-15)
When observing the day of adornment (Leviticus 16:29-31)
Improper motives for fasting
To impress others (Matthew 6:16-18)

Bible Verses About Strength and Healing are there to remind us of God’s willingness and ability to overcome all sicknesses and conditions. In both the Old and New Testament, God is shown as a wonder worker to whom all things are possible. With his words, he created Heaven and Earth together with all that it contains. Mankind came into existence through the works of his hands and his breath. It is he who called out Abraham from a sinful land to one which will bear a nation that honors him. In accordance to his instructions, Moses separated the water in the Red Sea to create a travelling pathway for the children of Israel. Even when they where in the desert, God healed their sick, provided their needs, and strengthened them for the journey towards the promised land. This will makeup for part of our Bible verses about strength and healing.
God did not only limit his strengthening and healing power in the Old Testament. He came in a way beyond human imagination and explanation in the New Testament. It so happened that God physically walked among men and women in the person of his son Jesus Christ. During that time, the eyes of the blind were opened, all the sick that came in contact with him were healed, the captives were freed, the dead came back to life, the lame had their legs strengthened to walk, the deaf had their ears opened, and the dumb had their speech power restored. All conditions and situations honored the son of God. And there was nothing that he could not accomplish. To the weak, he gave them strength and to the sick, he healed them. This will also make part of our Bible verses about strength and healing.

A single word from him can send away all sicknesses. Unlike human knowledge applied in medicine, his divine healing power does not leave behind any side-effect. In the same way, he strengthens all those who are weak and encourages them to continuously stick to the faith.
Can Christians today benefit from Divine Healing and Strength?
Upon hearing that God deed it in the time of Abraham, Moses, and the Twelve Apostles, we start asking if it is still possible these days. Let’s answer this by reading what Apostle Paul wrote in Hebrews 13:8 – “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” Brethren, do not allow your faith to be shaken. Jesus Christ is the same today as he was yesterday. He has not changed meaning that he is still doing the same things which he did in the past. Although he has departed from us physically, he is always with us spiritually. He still has the power to heal the sick, raise the dead, and set the captives free. What we need in order to benefit from his divine mercy and favor is a mature faith.
A mature faith is an unshakable certainty that all God’s yet unfulfilled promises will all be fulfilled at the right time. Faith is a supernatural gift from God that takes men and women into higher spiritual walks with him. It is the substance of things not seen and the evidence of things hoped for. Faith is the link between possibility and impossibility. It is the vehicle that caries our heart requests to God. With a mature faith in God, nothing is impossible. Learn and master what it takes to grow and maintain a mature faith from the following articles:

In thinking of the concept of strength, many people commonly associate it with physical power. It is important to note that both are overlapping synonyms that carry the capacity to act effectively, whether physically, morally, or intellectually. That is why it is said that the strongest is not always the ultimate master unless he/she converts his/her strength into doing what is right out of love and obedience. The Christian journey is full of challenges. Without strength, these challenges will lead you into wandering far away from the faith. Strength obtained from the certainty of God’s word, love and ability to fulfill all his promises keeps us within the faith.
It is without doubt that we’ll say that Christians all need strength to follow Christ who is their master. Christ in-turn will lead us to God the father in his mighty strength. We all need strength to accomplish our respective Godly assigned missions. Remember that Jesus Christ our savior was also strengthened for the accomplishment of his mission. He was empowered to carry his cross on daily basis till death. Today, we are all called to carry ours and follow him in everything that we do. Let’s support this message by reading from Luke 22:43 – “An Angel from Heaven appeared to him and STRENGTHENED him.” In addition to requesting God’s straightening power for the accomplishment of special tasks, we also need it to overcome the daily challenges that come our way. It is in this light that we hereby write to present the most powerful Bible verses about strength.
Powerful Bible Verses about Strength
The Father of creation whom we refer to as the Omnipotent God is repeatedly shown in the Old and New Testaments as a personality of supreme strength. With his words, he created Heaven and Earth together with all that is in it. His active strength was displayed in moving out of Egypt the people of Israel that were held as slaves. At his command, the Red Sea opened a path for the children of Israel to cross. The need for God’s strength in the midst of his children is not only seen in the miraculous delivery of Israel from the hands of the Egyptians. It can as well be clearly observed in the narratives of Exodus. Moses’s strength relied fully on the power that God alone could provide.
Moving to the New Testament, we see God’s strength in manifestation through Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ in his nature of God the son took human nature and moved among men for their salvation. His birth was a mystery and his life was a testimony of supernatural power which could only come from God the Father. Under the sun’s light, he raised men and women from death, cured all kinds of diseases. Using divine strength, he overcame Satan and all his agents. Today, at the mention of his name, all knees bow in honor of his divine nature. Brethren, these marvelous accounts of God’s strength were not limited to the people of old. Hebrews 13:8 tells us that God has not changed for he is still the same.
What the Scriptures say About Strength
The word strength and its derivatives are mentioned over 360 times in the Holy Scriptures (Bible). The word and its derivatives apply to both natural and supernatural strength. In the Greek language, the word katei means “might, power, strength”. In the Bible, the word strength is mostly linked to God’s power. You’ll figure out this as you go through the Bible verses about strength. Christian ought to be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. If we are asked for the source of strength, we’ll say that the unlimited power of Christ is the source of strength for all his followers.
The strength that we have is not ours but God’s. That’s why no one has the right to boast of strength. Be it natural or supernatural strength, it comes from God and we are able to accomplish anything because of his grace and love. Prayers made in the name of Jesus Christ have the power to miraculously change even the most challenging situations for the best. A sincere and powerful prayer has the ability to move God’s heart to send an Angel to help us as he did for Daniel in the lion’s den. Remember that Daniel was thrown into the lion’s den because of his faith in God, he looked not on his strength but on God’s and at once, God sent an Angel to shut the mouths of all the lions for as long as he was in their midst (Daniel 6). What of Daniel’s friends, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego? We are told by the scriptures that they were all thrown into a fiery furnace by Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon (Daniel 3:16-28).
King Nebuchadnezzar wanted them consumed by fire for having refused to worship his idol-god. Their faithfulness to the one true and mighty God was in itself a miracle prayer that works immediately. That’s why when they looked up to God, an Angel was sent to prevent the fire from consuming them. This is a clear sign that God answers prayers. He never fails and is ready to meet your needs when all hopes are gone. Brethren, relax and keep in mind that all things are possible with God. Rely not on your physical senses that are portraying impossibilities from all angles but on God who is capable. If you are serious about making a miracle prayer that works immediately, you’ll need to tear down your garments of doubt, fear, and sin to put on that of faith, trust, and righteousness through Christ.
Miracle prayer that works immediately – Everything you need to Know
A genuine prayer has the power to bring into existence the promises of God. Prayerful people are those who are at watch against the evil manipulations of the devil. The devil will do everything to fill you with fear, doubt, and unrighteousness so that you may wander far away from achieving immediate response to your prayers. But if you keep watch through the power and authority in the name of Jesus Christ, you’ll overcome him and all his agents. Never doubt God’s ability to instantly respond to prayers. Strive for a faithful life and keep in mind that God always responds powerfully to those who love him and keep his commands. No matter how hopeless a situation may seem, God has the power to change it for the best.
Biblical support
Mark 11:22-24 – “Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. I assure you that whoever tells this hill to get up and throw itself in the sea and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will happen, it will be done for him. For this reason I tell you: when you pray and ask for something, believe that you have received it, and you will be given whatever you ask for.” From these Bible verses, we hear Jesus Christ clearly pointing out to the fact that the prayers of the faithful and answered instantly. That is, as they pray, they fully believe in their hearts that they have already received an answer to their prayers. By so doing, God in his wonder-working ways will make manifest in the physical what was already existing through faith in the spiritual realms.
How to make a miracle prayer that works immediately
Our heavenly father is always willing and ready to hear and answer our prayers. The problem lays in the fact that most people usually approach him in the wrong direction and with the wrong motives. Praying without expecting God to respond is limiting what we are calling on him to do in our lives. Prayer is a two-sided communication. That is, you talk to God and he responds. Thus, we should come to God with a full conviction that he answers prayers. We can do this through faith-filled prayers. Such prayers bring into existence miraculous and wonderful happenings from God. Use the following ways to pray more powerfully as you invite God to manifest miracles and wonders in your life even during moments of no hope in the face of human impossibilities:
1. Grow and maintain a mature faith
Faith is the key to having your prayers answered instantly. We can as well say that the simplest way to empower your prayer for an immediate answer is to grow and maintain a mature faith. But what do we really mean by faith? Faith is the absolute trust in the accomplishment of God’s yet unfulfilled promises. In other words, faith is the substance of things not seen and the evidence of things hoped for. It is all about taking God for his word without entertaining any doubt. Faith is a supernatural gift from God. Look not on your strength to grow and maintain faith but on God’s. Ask God to grow and strengthen your faith in him and for sure he will do so. When you pray, ask God’s will to be done and not yours because his will is the best.
Without faith, it is not possible for us to talk of a miracle prayer that works immediately. That’s why we’ll recommend that you read the following articles on how to grow and maintain a mature faith:
2. Rely on God’s strength to fight spiritual battles
In ourselves, we are weak and can do nothing. An effective prayer is one that relies on God’s strength. Remember that we are wrestling against evil spiritual forces in the heavenly places and victory in such can only be obtained through Christ. As we struggle on a daily basis to obtain the blessings which God destined for us, the devil and his agents are fighting and doing their best to prevent us from getting in touch with our possessions. That’s why we must remain awake in prayers so that God in his might will defeat these evil forces through Christ and grant us our heart desires.
Remember the story of Prophet Daniel. He prayed and when God sent an Angel with an answer, the devil became an obstacle but because Daniel had faith in God and continued in prayers, the devil was defeated. Never give up but keep on fighting the good fight through Christ.
3. Always repent and strive for a righteous life
Sin prevents our prayers from reaching our heavenly father. This means that they won’t be answered. The Bible tells us that we have all sinned and fallen short of God’s glory. No one is righteous apart from God. That’s why he sent his only beloved son, Jesus Christ to become a sacrificial lamb for the sins of the world. Through him, our sins are forgiven and we are made holy before God. That’s why you should always start your prayers with a sincere repentance from your sins. By sincere repentance, we mean realizing and regretting your wrongdoings before God and asking Him to have mercy on you. A sincere repentance is one made with no intention of going back to commit the same sin.
